A Brief History of
Do It With Class

Do It With Class Young People’s Theatre was created in 1993 by Andorlie Hillstrom. Three years later, Andorlie was joined by music and production director Robert Ursan. Andorlie stepped down as artistic director in June 2014, and Rob added that role to his existing duties.

As a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors, the company initially produced shows at the Regina Performing Arts Centre. In 2008, due to the growth in the size of the company, Do It With Class moved its productions to the Conexus Arts Centre. In 2015, we moved again, this time to the University of Regina. We’ve staged shows at Darke Hall on the University of Regina’s Conservatory of Performing Arts campus, and our current home is the Riddell Theatre on the University of Regina’s main campus.

Hundreds of young people from across southern Saskatchewan have been members of Do It With Class Young People’s Theatre since its creation in 1993.

Some of our alumni have pursued careers in theatre, while many others have become musicians, educators, lawyers, doctors, policy analysts, and more. Many of our alumni credit Do It With Class with playing an integral role in developing their confidence, self-esteem, and team building skills, which are critical in all careers.
