Musical Theatre Classes: Through fun-filled activities and engaging storytelling, our experienced instructors will guide them in learning the basics of singing, dancing, and acting. From classic show tunes to original choreography, our young performers will develop their confidence, teamwork skills, and self-expression while exploring the exciting world of musical theatre. Fees are due at registration. The cost is $200 and includes a t-shirt and a pair of tickets to one of our 2024-25 productions. Returning students save 10%.
Classes will be in our new permanent space at 611 Park Street
A showcase will be held on the last day of classes for families and supporters to come to watch what has been learned and created.

Registration Form - Spring Session

Sessional classes will run on Saturdays (April 13 - June 8, 2024 (no class May 18th). Please select the class you are interested in. Registration is based on a first come basis and spots are limited to 8-12 registrants per session. Spots will be confirmed when the registration fee is received. Send fees to diwcrecords@gmail.com. A waitlist will be made available and additional classes may be added if there is sufficient interest.

Waiver, Release of Liability and Consent

I consent, as the Participant’s parent or legal guardian, hereby, in consideration of DIWC allowing the Participant to take part in the activities of DIWC, acknowledge, agree and consent to the terms of this document and acknowledge its effect as a binding legal agreement (the “Agreement”). 1. DIWC and its directors, officers, agents, contractors, employees, volunteers or organizers (the “DIWC organization”) are not responsible for any injury, personal injury, damage, property damage, expense, loss of income or loss of any kind suffered by a Participant during, or as a result of, the activities of DIWC, caused in any manner whatsoever, including, but not limited to, the negligence of the DIWC organization. 2. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent agree: (a) that the sole responsibility for the Participant’s safety remains with the Participant and the Participant’s Parent; (b) to assume all risks arising out of or associated with the Participant’s participation in the activities of DIWC, including the possibility of the Participant’s personal injury, death, property damage, expense and related loss, including loss of income, resulting from the Participant’s participation in the activities of DIWC; and (c) that they are not relying on any oral or written statement made by the DIWC organization to participate in DIWC. 3. I consent to the Participant acting, dancing, rehearsing, performing, and taking part in the activities of DIWC. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent hereby waive and forever release DIWC and its directors, officers, agents, contractors, employees, volunteers or organizers (the “DIWC organization”) from any and all claims we may have at any time now or in the future against the DIWC organization for any claim at any time now or in the future, which might arise for damage, injury or loss of any kind suffered or incurred by either the Participant or the Participant’s Parent as a result of our participation or involvement with the DIWC organization, regardless of who caused such claim, or how same arose, even though such claim may have been caused by any manner whatsoever, including but not limited to the negligence, gross negligence, negligent rescue, omissions, carelessness, breach of contract and/or breach of any statutory duty of care of the DIWC organization. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent forever indemnify the DIWC organization for any and all liability for any claims that might arise from or relate to the Participant’s participation in the activities of DIWC. 4. This Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law of the Province of Saskatchewan and if any portion is held invalid, the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of Saskatchewan. 5. Checking the consent below is an acknowledgement that the Participant’s parent or legal guardian has read this Agreement and understand it, that they have executed this Agreement voluntarily, and that this Agreement is to be binding upon themselves, their heirs, their spouses, parents, guardians, next of kin, executors, administrators and legal or personal representatives.

Meet our instructors for the 2023-24 season!

Creative Movers

Instructor: Chloe Brûlé-Head

Chloe started taking classes in voice, musical theatre, and dance at age 3. She has trained in musical theatre, tap, jazz, contemporary, ballet, pointe, modern, and lyrical dance styles. She has won various dance scholarships and has participated in summer dance intensives at the Alberta Ballet School Professional Division and

the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Chloe also studies classical voice and has won scholarships for singing in Italian, French, German, and Spanish. She is an Assistant Teacher for junior musical theatre at the Martin School of Dance and Baton. Chloe loves to perform on and off stage and looks forward to sharing her love of dance with you!

Musical Theatre Instructor: Aminah Tayapad

Hi, I’m Aminah Tayapad, I’ve been in the arts since I could walk and I have experience in all things musical theatre. I am so thrilled to be helping teach the next generation of artists to become inspired and grow!

Musical Theatre Instructor: Nania van der Merwe

Nania van der Merwe is a grade 12 student entering her sixth season with DIWC young people’s theatre. She has taken voice lessons with the artistic director, Robert Ursan, for five years. Additional to this training, she has studied violin at the Conservatory of Performing Arts since she was four(RCM 8 certified). At her school, Nania is heavily involved in all things music; she is the SLC arts director, a prominent figure in the musical theatre program, a choir section leader, and a french horn player in the band. DIWC has shaped Nania into the actress and performer she is today, and she is excited to explore theatre from a mentor’s perspective.
